MA in Ministry, Piedmont Divinity School DMin in Church Revitalization, Piedmont Divinity School Greg Powell became the Senior Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in the fall of 2019. He has served previously at churches in Maryland, Georgia, and South Carolina. He has a deep love for the local church and is passionate about seeing people grow in their walk with Christ through expository, practical, and Christ-centered preaching of God’s Word.
Greg’s call to ministry is centered on communicating Scripture through preaching, teaching, and shepherding, with a desire to help individuals and families become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ. His passion is to love God, love his family, and point people to Christ through faithful leadership and biblical instruction. Greg met his wife, Karen, while attending Pensacola Christian College, and they have been serving the Lord together in ministry ever since. They are blessed with three children: Sophia, Landon, and Olivia. He holds a Master’s degree in theology from Carolina University (Piedmont Divinity School) and has earned a Doctor of Ministry degree with a focus on church revitalization. His ministry reflects a burden to strengthen and renew the local church through intentional discipleship and biblical leadership. |
